Description of Collection System or Treatment Process:
Operation of a 0.2 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a manual bar screen,
two oxidation ditches operated,in parallel treatment:trains, two clarifiers with flow directed to a
Partial' flume and flow meter, step :down post acration, aerated -sludge digester with sludge drying
beds, and'post chlorination.. This faci1it3•-is-located at the Parkton WWTP, on NC SR 1724
southeast of Parkton in Robeson -County. The wastewater collection system consists of 2 miles of
gravity flow sewer mains and 1.5 miles. of force mains. We have two lift stations that pump
sewer water to different locations through out the collection system. Lift station # 2 pumps sewer
water to the wastewater treatment plant.

During the month of July we, filled our. " Mercury, We had 12" rainfall and with the I&I problem
we believe the level of mercury in the dirt could be a factor. The Months of August, September
and October we failed Ammonia. The reason. for,the failure is due to::the amount of "rainfall in the
month of July WhiChWaS,J2,57'.The,TOinrof Parkton has purchased chemical to'help grow more
Bacteriafor. wastewater. The.three Saniiary,Sewer Overflows were due -to the amount of rainfall
and snow:

that a copy of this report can be obtained at the Parkton Town Office.

Public Notice
The North Carolina Clean Act of 1999 requires that each owner of operator of any
wastewater treatment plant or wastewater collection system to provide an annual
performance report to its users and customers.
The Town of Parkton owns its wastewater collections system and the wastewater
treatment facility located at NCSR 1724 Southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. A
copy of the Towns 2013 performance report can be obtained at the Parkton Town
Office, located at 28 West David Parnell St.
The report will show that during 2013, the Town of Parkton had 3 monitoring or
reporting violations, 3 permit violations, and 3 sanitary sewer over flow.
The public is invited to pick up a copy of this report, or if there are any questions
surrounding this 2013 report, to contact the Parkton Town Hall at [phone].
