I. General Information:
Facility ! System Name: Parkton Wastewater Treatment Plant

Description of Collection. System or Treatment Process:
Operation of a 0.2 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a manual bar screen,
two oxidation ditches operated in parallel treatment trains, two clarifiers with flow directed to a
Partial 'flume and flow meter, step down post aeration, aerated sludge digester with sludge drying
beds, and post chlorination. This facility is located at the Parkton WWTP, on NC SR 1724
southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. The wastewater collection system consists of 2 miles of
gravity flow sewer mains and 1.5 miles of force mains. We have two lift stations.one that pumps
waste water to different location in the collection system. Lift station # 2 pumps sewer water to
the wastewater treatment plant.

The 11 sanitary sewer overflows were caused by I&I due to excessive rainfall amounts. Five of
the 11 sanitary sewer overflows were due to Hurricane Matthew, The 3 Permit Violations were
due to excessive rainfall amounts, we exceeded our permitted flow limit at the WWTP in the
months of January, February, and October. The 3 NOV's were as follows, sanitary sewer
overflow, excessive flow at WWTP and WET test administered by the state Failure.

The North Carolina Clean Act of 1999 requires that each owner of operator of any
wastewater treatment plant or wastewater collection system to provide an annual
performance report to its users and customers.
The Town of Parkton owns its wastewater collections system and the wastewater
treatment facility located at NCSR 1724 Southeast of Parkton in Robeson County. A
copy of the Towns 2016 performance report can be obtained at the Parkton Town
Office, located at 28 West David Parnell St.
The report will show that during 2016, the Town of Parkton had 0 monitoring or
reporting violations, 4 permit violations, and 11 sanitary sewer over flow.
