We have a Gravity Flow sewer collection, with only one lift station to our existing 0.50 MGD
Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant has the following components: manual bar screen,
grit pump, influent wet well and pumps, aeration tank with diffusers, aerobic digester,
clarifier, effluent chlorination basin, flow meter, cascade post aeration, drying beds for
sludge, and a back up generator. The facility is located on Brown Street.
The New WWTP began operation the second week of June, 2002. The new plant has a
mechanical bar screen at the old plant site with 3 pumps that pump sewer to the new plant,
which also has another step bar screen. The new plant has two aeration basins, two clarifiers,
two digesters, one sludge holding basin, chlorination with liquid bleach and de -chlorination
along with three pumps that pump effluent to the river. Both locations have back-up
generators.
II. Performance
Text Summary of System Performance for Calendar Year 2002:
The plant met the monthly testing limits on effluent except for the following months.
List (by month) any violations of permit conditions or other environmental regulations.
Monthly lists should include discussion of any environmental impacts and corrective
measures taken to address violations.

operator of any wastewater plant or collection system provide an annual
performance report to its users and customers.
The Town of Fairmont owns its wastewater collections system and the
wastewater facility located at 101 Brown Street. A copy of the Town's 2002
performance report can be obtained at the Fairmont Town Hall on 421 South
Main Street or you can call and request one at 628-9766.
