Overview of the Process
H&T Trucking operates a truck washingfacility that washes hog hauling trucks, They have had
significantly .less trucks to wash. The facility was originally designed to wash 20 trucks per day,. 5 days
per week. Currently, they may wash one or two trucks pet week. They wish to retain their full capacity.
Primarily, they .use recycled water out of the final lagoon to do the bulk of the washing.. The wastewater
flows to a pit with a solid's separator, The separated liquid and immure go to the 6O9,94O gallon pnmaxy
lagoon and from there to the 194,764 gallon final lagoon. A final rinse is done with fresh water from the
public water supply system. Solids removed by the separator are mostly wood chips and grit. They are
carried to the landfill, The chemical used in washing the trucks is called MVP -GC Super Vehicle Cleaner,

Setback Waivers
On September 29, 2003, the permit was issued with a variance. The 5`1i condition of the PERFORMANCE
STANDARDS, reads as follows:
5. The following buffers shall be maintained:
a) 400 feet between wetted area and any residence or places of public assembly under separate
ownership,
b) 50 feet between wetted area and property hues,*
c) 100 feet between wetted area and wells,
d) 100 feet between wetted area and drainageways or surface water bodies,
e) 50 feet between wetted area and public right of ways,
0 100 feet between wastewater treatment units and wells and
g) 50 feet between wastewater treatment units and property lines.
*A variance was granted allowing a 50 foot buffer to the property lines from treatment units and
wetted area.
