CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1' OBTAIN PLAN APPROVAL FROM NCDEQ AND ALL
APPLICABLE PERMITS FROM OTHER REVIEWING AGENCIES.
2' FLAGGING 0FALL THE CONSTRUCTION/DENUDED LIMITS AND ANY OTHER
BUFFERS SHALL BE PERFORMED PRIOR TO THE PREODNSTRUCTON MEETING. THE
CONTRACTOR IS TO STAY WITHIN THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION. ANY NEED TO
CROSS THIS LIMIT LINE WILL NEED TO BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE
ENGINEER PRIOR TO ANY CROSS OVER. THE CLEARING LIMITS MUST BE FLAGGED
PRIOR TO THE PRBCDNSTRUCTTON MEETING IN ORDER TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL
ENTRY OUTSIDE THE CLEARING LIMITS.
ZL SET UP PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING ON SITE PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION,
WITH THE OWNER, WITH ALL CONTRACTORS INVOLVED WITH LAND DISTURBANCE
AND THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR.
4. INSTALL STONE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE.
5 CLEAR AND GRUB THOSE AREAS NEEDED TO INSTALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES IN
THE SEQUENCE OUTLINED BELOW. EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ARE TO BE INSTALLED BASED ON
DETAILS PROVIDED UNDER THE APPROVED PLANS, THE PLANS AND DETAILS ARE
BASED ON THEN.C. EROSION AND SEDIMENT PLANNING AND DESIGN MANUAL~
AND RECOGNIZED BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES8MP�). ENSURE POSITIVE
DRAINAGE TO ALL STRUCTURES ALONG DIVERSION BERMS. TQpSOlLSHAU-BE
UTILIZED IN THE SLOPES TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY THE QEO-TECH ENGINEER
OF RECORD. REMAINING TOPSOIL SHALL BE STORED ON LOTS CLOSE TO GRADE
AND AS APPROVED BY THE OWNER'

SIZES APPROVED BY THE OVNNER,

10.AS THE SITE IS BROUGHT TO GRADE INSTALL STORM DRAINAGE AND IMMEDIATELY
INSTALL INLET PROTECTION MEASURES.
11' STABILIZE THE SITE PER THE TIME TABLES LISTED ON THIS SHEET AS WELL AS SHEET
NCQD1.
12.AS THE ROADWAY IS BROUGHT TO GRADE AND DITCHES ARE CUT IN, INSTALL DITCH
MATTING PER TABLE ON THIS SHEET.
13`ONCE ROADWAY IS BROUGHT TO GRADE, INSTALL UTILITIES. GEE SHEETS 12 AND 14
FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND SEQUENCING OF THE SEVER LINE INSTALLATION
ACROSS THE STREAM. FOLLOWING INSTALLATION OF UTILITIES, REINSTALL MATTING OR
RE -SEED PREVIOUSLY STABILIZED AREAS AS NECESSARY.

EROSION CONTROL NOTES
1_ THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE EROSION
CONTROL INSPECTOR. ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MAY BE
REQUIRED THAT ARE NOT INDICATED ON THE PLANS BY THE EROSION CONTROL
INSPECTOR. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN EROSION
ONBlTE, REGARDLESS OF THE MEASURES REQUIRED. ANY CHANGE IN THE
EROSION CONTROL MEASURES AND/OR GRADING SHALL BE CALLED TO THE
ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER AND THE EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR.
ALL MEASURES MUST REMAIN OPERABLE UNTIL THE SITE IS S7ABIUZED.
2, EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHALL BE DILIGENTLY MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT
CONSTRUCTION. DEVICES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND REPAIRED AFTER EACH
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL
3. SEDIMENT TRAPS/BASINS ARE TO BE CLEANED OUT WHEN THE BASIN IS NO
MORE THAN HALF FULL THEY SHALL BE CLEARED OF ALL SILT AND RESHAPED
TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN PARAMETER.
4. GRASS OR OTHERWISE STABILIZE ALL AREAS ASTHEY ARE BROUGHT WP TO
GRADE. STABILIZE WITH GROUND COVER. (SEE G.C. PLAN NOTES FOR
STABILIZATION REQUIREMENTS.)
5, STABILIZE WITH GROUND COVER ALL SLOPES, CUT OFFILL, WITHIN THE
TlMEFRAME LISTED ON THE ADJOINING TABLE.
6. ALL EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ARE TO REMAIN IN THE PLACE UNTIL THE
SITE IS PROPERLY STABILIZED WITH GROUND COVER. ALL UPSTREAM AREAS
MUST BE STABILIZED PRIOR TO REMOVAL QFEROSION CONTROL DEVICES. ONCE
THIS OCCURS, REMOVE SEDIMENT GRADE TO FINAL ELEVATIONS AND STABILIZE.
7. REMOVE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ONLY UPON RECEIPT OF APPROVAL
FROM EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR.
EL [FBLL MATERIALS ARE TO BE BROUGHT ONTO THIS PROJECTOR WASTE
MATERIALS ARE TUBE TAKEN FROM THIS PROJECT, THIS INFORMATION MUST BE
DISCLOSED AND SHOWN ON THE EROSION CONTROL AND GRADING PLAN.
BORROW AREAS AND DUMP SITES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE PART OFTHIS
PROJECT AND THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR GTA8{Ll2A7DN AND EROSION
CONTROL MEASURES AT THESE SlTES,
0. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SITE EROSION CONTROL
MAINTENANCE DURING CONSTRUCTION. IN ADDITION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE

POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM (NPDES) PERMIT.
10. AS OF MARCH 11 2003, ALL CONSTRUCTION SITES ONE (1) ACRE OR MORE,
REQUIRES A NPDES PERMIT.THEREFORE:
-WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION OF DEVIATION FROM APPROVED PLAN MUST
BE NOTED ON THE APPROVED PLANS'
-WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION OF AN EMERGENCY SITUATION WHERE SEDIMENT
HAS BEEN DISCHARGED OFF SITE MUST BERECORDED. ALSO, CONTRACTOR'S
ACTIONS TO REPAIR AND RETURN AREA TO PRE -STORM CONDITION MUST BE
RECORDED.
-THE PERMlTTEE SHALL INSPECT ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION
CONTROL FACILITIES EVERY SEVEN DAYS AND WITHIN 24HOURS DFA 1 INCH
RAINFALL. FINDINGS SHALL BE RECORDED AND PRESENTED UPON INSPECTOR'S
REQUEST.
-THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE RAIN -RECORDING DEVICE AND RECORD
EACH RAINFALL.
-ANY FAILURES THAT CAUSE VlSB]LE SEDIMENTATION TO LEAVE THE
APPROVED DISTURBED LIMITS SHALL BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY AND
DOCUMENTED.
-A COPY OF THE NPDES PERMIT SHOULD BE KEPT ON SITE FOR
REFERENCE.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE. ON SITE THE MEANS TO REMOVE ANY
SEDIMENT TRACKED ONTO THE STREET. IF CONDITIONS REQUIRE. EQUIPMENT
MUST BE ON SITE TO WASH TIRES OF VEHICLES PRIOR TO ENTERING STREET.
