This is a courtesy notification that NCDOT will be repairing and stabilizing the shoulder of NC 37.A high flow
event caused the shoulder to eroded at the outlet of a driveway pipe.The eroded sediment is restricting flow to
an existing cross line pipe under NC 37. NCDOT proposes to reconstruct and stabilize approximately 30 linear
feet of shoulder with class B riprap under Nationwide 13 permit conditions. NCDOT proposes to undertake
maintenance excavation of the eroded shoulder material deposited in the stream just upstream of the pipe inlet
under Nationwide permit 3 conditions.The project site is located at 36.38872,-76.72203 on a UT to Bennets
Creek, Stream Index no.25-17 and surface water classification C;NSW in the Chowan river basin.
