The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted a compliance inspection with sampling of the
Tinseltown RV Park(AKATuckaseegee RV Resort)WWTP Facility, located at 78 Wilmont Cemetary Rd, Whittier,
NC 28789 on May 18, 2016. Also present during the inspection was Dale Wike of Environmental, Inc. This
inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions
and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0088765.
The facility was found to be non-compliant with the Permit No. NCO088765. The following items
were noted during the inspection and must be corrected in order to comply with Permit NCO088765:
NPDES Standard Permit Conditions:
Section C. Operation and Maintenance of Pollution Controls, 2. Proper Operation and Maintenance:
• Weeds and vegetation have significantly overgrown the facility and must be removed. This presents
both an operational barrier and safety hazard to the ORC and inspector. Institute a regular program for
weed/vegetation control.
• A significant number of the spray nozzles for the synthetic surface media pods were not functioning at
the time of the inspection. Repair the nozzles and perform regular inspection and documentation of the
spray nozzle system.

The Deemed Collection System serving Tuckaseegee RV Resort was also inspected concurrent with the WWTP. The
collection system appeared to be well maintained and operated, and compliant with Permit No. WQCSD0451.

at least one of the lamps was completely disconnected The ORC did not have a way to

Effluent was discolored and appeared high in TSS. Sample results for fecal coliform
indicated significant exceedance of the permit discharge limits.
