Subject: BIMS 20161220
Per the reissuance of the 401 for BIMS20161220 several dates were inclusive toward the review process due to the
near completion of the project and the gathering of additional information needed to make an informed permitting
decision. Additional information was requested by DWR on June 21, 2021, additional information was requested by
USACE via email on June 25, 2021. The NC DOT response was received on July 25, 2021. Follow up phone call
consultation with USACE was performed on August 13, 2021 to assess the completeness of the NC DOT response
to the both add info requests from the 404 and 401 permitting agencies. Additional site visits were performed to
determine site progression and removal of the Rankin Lake Road bridge, which would also determine additional
special conditions necessary for permitting. Site visit on August , 2021 confirmed Rankin Lake Road removal and a
follow up visit on September 17, 2021 confirmed stream conditions that would require additional monitoring with
special permit conditions. 401 was issued on November 5, 2021.
