Mr. Davidson,

This letter is in response to your 11-9-21 letter to Cervini Farms North Carolina, Inc.
attached.

The system has had a hard time meeting the low ammonia limits and BOD limits as well.

With the fixed media system, we are limited to the adjustments we can make to enhance
the performance to the effluent. We have reviewed the system with the equipment
supplier and design engineer and made adjustments to pod run times. We also tried to
introduce nitrifier bacteria which only seemed to raise the BOD limits.

We have reached out to all parties for assistance, so please let us know if you have any
suggestions. The 1 mg/L ammonia limit will be problematic from what we have seen.
