RE: AQUA Dolphin Bay Force Main Reroute Project
Fast Track Sewer Permit - NCDEQ
M&C#: 04474-0023
I. Background
AQUA has identified the need to re-route an existing 3" force main in The Cape Sewer System
located in southern New Hanover County. A portion of the existing 3" sewer force main is to be
abandoned due to its old age and poor condition. The force main is to be re-routed to a near -by
gravity sewer system located near the intersection of Valley Brook Rd and Carolina Beach Road.
The project will involve the design and permitting of:
✓ 210 LF of 6" HDPE sewer force main to be installed via horizontal directional drill
✓ 30 LF of 4" PVC sewer force main to be installed via open cut
The 6" HDPE sewer force main will be installed under Carolina Beach Road and the 4" PVC force
main shall connect to an existing 8" gravity sewer system. The old section of 3" force main shall be
abandoned in -place.
