DESCRIPTION OF TREATMENT PROCESS:
The City of Dunn Black River Wastewater Treatment Facility uses mechanical
pretreatment processes to remove inorganic materials such as rags and sand. An extended
aeration biological process is utilized for secondary treatment. This is followed by
clarification, disinfection, and de -chlorination before the treated water is discharged into
the Cape Fear River. Excess sludge is thickened and stabilized before land application as
biosolids to permitted farm sites.
II. PERFORMANCE:
The City of Dunn Black River Wastewater Treatment Facility had no reportable
violations in 2007.
III. NOTIFICATION:
This report is a matter of public record and will be filed in the City of Dunn — North
Carolina Administrative Office and made available to users or customers of the system.
Additionally, this report will be published in The Daily Record (local newspaper) and run
on the City's local government cable channel.
IV. CERTIFICATION:
I certify under penalty of law that this report is complete and accurate to the best of my
knowledge. I further certify that this report has been made available to the users or
customers of the named system and that the users have been notified of its availability.
