The purpose of this Annual Stormwater Outreach Schedule is to create a consistent and well-rounded
approach to educating the Town of Wake Forest's residence about Stormwater pollution and
prevention. The Town of Wake Forest provides it's residents with easy to use SeeFixClick for reporting
stormwater issues to the Public Works Department, as well as making the contact information of the
Town Engineers readily available for contact on the Town's website.
TOWF Partnerships
The Town of Wake Forest has an established relationship with the Clean Water Education Partnership
(CWEP). This organization aims to protect North Carolina's waterways from stormwater pollution
through public education and outreach. CWEP collaborates with local governments to weigh in on
outreach priorities at quarterly meetings. They produce mass media campaigns and are active on social
media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. See below a graphic of their communication reporting.
CWEP CO
The Town of Wake Forest could better utilize this relationship by reposting/liking social media posts of
CWEP. There are also education graphics provided on their website that the Town could use in future
educational posts. These graphics are linked in the topics section below.

examples in the past
o SeeFixClick
■ Clogged storm drain
■ Erosion/turbidity
■ Flooding
■ Stream/Wetland Water Bodies
■ Illicit Discharge (future)
Based on the CWEP videos and graphics and SeeFixClick examples, it would be reasonable to post once a
month. In addition, reposts of CWEP social media can help add new material as it is created by CWEP.

Hazardous household chemicals cannot be disposed in the landfill because
f their caustic properties and potential for environmental and stormwater
T Ilution. Household chemicals, cooking grease, paints and medicines can
poison our waters if they get into the storm drain. To avoid this, never dump
pollutants into the sink or outside. To learn more about proper disposal of
hazardous materials, visit:
