2018 WASTEWATER SYSTEM PERFORMANCE REPORT
The City of Marion operates an existing 3.0 MGD wastewater treatment facility permit #
NC0031879 consisting of influent pump station, bar screen, grit removal, primary clarifiers, aeration
basins, lime addition, tertiary filters gravity sludge thickeners, vacuum sludge filters, step aeration
and chlorination, located at 3982 hwy 226 south Marion, NC in Mcdowell County.
The residuals we produce at our facility are land applied as a liquid under permit #WQ0019960. The
sludge is processed in an aerobic digester and after the product has passed all tests required by the
NCDWQ it is hauled and applied by Southern Soil Builders from Roaring River NC. We apply
