Stormwater, Erosion Control, and Site Narrative
Markraft Cabinets

New Hanover County, NC
Markcraft Cabinets is an existing developed 4.45 acre site located in New
Hanover County, NC (Parcel#: R03300-002-001-ooi). The site has an existing loading
dock facility that is not being used. We are proposing to remove the existing loading
dock and replace it with parking spaces at a grade more pedestrian friendly in relation to
the finished floor. All existing loading dock impervious surfaces not used in the parking
renovation will be removed and reclaimed as green space. Parking changes will result in
a net loss of 130 s.f of impervious surface. The 130 sf will remain within the permit
allocation as future (SW8 goo811), therefore this will not have an impact on the existing
BMP.
The site is currently treated by an existing Wet Detention Pond. This existing
BMP will remain and is not part of any disturbed area for the proposed renovation. No
changes are proposed in drainage patterns. Existing and proposed inlets near disturbed
area will be protected with Silt Sacks. All disturbed areas will be stabilized as
landscaped areas or seeded in accordance with seeding specifications.

If you are reducing the area and keeping the drainage pattern the same, then you can apply for a plan revision ($0) by
submitting the Plan Revision form, hftp://portal.ncdenr.org/web/wq/ws/su/statesw/forms docsa cover letter
describing what you are doing, and two copies of the plan. You may want to claim BUA that has been permitted already
as "future" in the plan revision in case something comes up one day. It is easier to fix when it is documented that way.

I have been asked to look at this site for the owner. They are doing some minor adjustments in the
parking layout out front. Basically they are removing the loading dock and converting it to parking
spaces. This will actually result in a reduction in impervious coverage by just under too A I have
been told by NH County Stormwater that they will be exempt from a modification. New Hanover
County Sedimentation and Erosion Control has also told me we would be exempt. These other
agencies just wanted a copy of the plans and a narrative explaining what we were doing with no fee.
know this is a rarity, and that is why I am asking the question.
Would this require a modification from your department?
