NOTES:
1. VIGOROUS STAND OF PERMANENT GRASS COVER SHALL
BE ESTABLISHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ALONG THE
BANKS OF DITCHES AND DISTURBED AREAS. WHERE
DITCH BANKS CANNOT BE ADEQUATELY STABILIZED WITH
VEGETATION, AN ARTIFICIAL LINER SUCH AS RIP -RAP
SHALL BE USED TO PROTECT BANKS. PULL SLOPES BACK TO BLEND
2. WHERE SLOPE OF CHANNEL BOTTOM EXCEEDS 1.5%,
EXCELSIOR MATTING OR OTHER EFFECTIVE CHANNEL LINING INTO EXISTING TERRAIN, TYP.
MATERIAL SHALL BE USED.

CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE:
1. CONTRACTOR TO NOTIFY N.C. LAND QUALITY SECTION, REGIONAL OFFICE IN
WILMINGTON, (910) 796-7215, PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION.
2. INSTALL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, SILT FENCE, SEDIMENT BASIN AND
GRASS LINED SWALES AS SHOWN ON THE EROSION CONTROL PLAN.
3. MAINTAIN ALL MEASURES FOR THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT.
5. CHECK SEDIMENT BASIN DEPTH FROM DESIGN DEPTH TO BOTTOM. IF LESS
THAN DESIGN DEPTH, EXCAVATE TO DESIGN DEPTH.
MAINTENANCE PLAN
1. ALL EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE CHECKED FOLLOWING EVERY
RUNOFF -PRODUCING RAINFALL AND AT LEAST ONCE EVERY WEEK. NEEDED
REPAIRS WILL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY.
2. SEDIMENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE SEDIMENT BASIN WHEN STORAGE
CAPACITY HAS BEEN APPROXIMATELY 5D% FILLED.
3. SEDIMENT WILL BE REMOVED FROM BEHIND THE SEDIMENT FENCE WHEN IT
BECOMES 0.5 FT. DEEP AT THE FACE OF THE FENCE. THE SEDIMENT FENCE
WILL BE REPAIRED AS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN A BARRIER.
4. GRAVEL CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE TO BE CLEANED WHEN SEDIMENT
ACCUMULATIONS ARE VISIBLE OR SEDIMENT IS DEPOSITED ON THE ASPHALT
AND STONE WILL BE PERIODICALLY TOP DRESSED WITH 2 INCHES OF #4
STONE TO MAINTAIN 6 INCH DEPTH.
5. ALL SEEDED AREAS WILL BE FERTILIZED, RESEEDED AS NECESSARY, AND
MULCHED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS IN THE VEGETATIVE PLAN TO
MAINTAIN A VIGOROUS, DENSE VEGETATIVE COVER.

PROJECT NARRATIVE
The John Ward -Wood Waste Grinding Operation tract is located in the Lockwood Folly Township
of Brunswick County on SR 1119 (Stanley Road) approximately 0.40 miles southeast of the
intersection of SR 1130 (Mt. Pisgah Road) & SR 1119 (Stanley Road) in Supply, North Carolina.
The total project area is 10 acres. The area of disturbance is 4.85 acres.
The project consists of a wood waste grinding operation where minor land forming activities will
take place. There will be a soil internal access road installed on this site. The property owner is
currently hauling vegetative debris from construction sites and stock piling on this site. The debris
will be ground into mulch and dispersed to other sites. The site is approximately 2600 feet from SR
1119 and is accessed by and existing road. No activity other than that described above is anticipated
at this time. At such time as the activity becomes more intense, a plan revision will be submitted to
the Land Quality Section for review and approval.
STORMWATER & EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
A construction entrance will be installed at the entrance to the project and maintained for the
duration of the activity at the site. The site contractor will stabilize disturbed areas as soon as
possible. Runoff will be directed to the sedimentation basin for the duration of the operation. Grass
lined swales with check dams will be installed to serve as stonnwater collection/erosion control
diversion devices which will direct runoff to the sediment basin and shall be and maintain at all
times. In addition, silt fence will be maintained around the perimeter of the area of disturbance to
maintain adequate sedimentation and erosion control. No other erosion control measures are
deemed necessary at this time. The grass lined swales will also serve to convey the storrnwater
runoff to a 100 LF treatment swale located at the outlet of the sediment basin prior to leaving thel
Iproject area via an existing ditch o the NE side of the project.
