On October 5, 2021, staff of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR), Water Quality
Regional Operations Section (WQROS), conducted a compliance inspection and noted permit
condition violations at your facility.
As a result of this inspection, you are hereby notified that, having been permitted to have a
non -discharge permit for the subject animal waste disposal system pursuant to 15A NCAC
2T Section .1300, violations have been noted at your facility.
Permit Condition H. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS:
10. A protective, vegetative cover shall be established and maintained on all earthen
lagoon/storage pond embankments (outside toe of embankment to maximum pumping
elevation), berms, pipe runs, and diversions to surface waters or wetlands. Trees, shrubs, and
other woody vegetation shall not be allowed to grow on the lagoon/storage pond embankments.
All trees shall be removed in accordance with good engineering practices. Lagoon/storage pond
areas shall be accessible, and vegetation shall be kept mowed.
Violation 1:
Failure to remove trees, shrubs, and other woody vegetation from lagoon embankments.
