Description of Collection System Process:
The Town of Polkton Wastewater Collection System is a gravity flow with no pumps or lift
stations. This system does not include a treatment facility. All of the users of the collection system are
connected to sewer mains that transport the wastewater to mains owned by Anson County. These mains
being located on NC DOT right-of-way along US Hwy. 74 and SR 1614. Anson County mains flow
through a series of gravity flow, pump station and force mains to the County Wastewater Treatment Plant
on Jones Creek south of Wadesboro.

Text Summary of System Performance for F/Y 2001 (1 July 2000 — 30 June 2001)
No permit limit violations.
No monitoring or reporting violations.
No sanitary sewer overflows.
Construction is currently underway to sewer Ashe St. area and the West side of town.
No violations of permit conditions or other environmental regulations during
F/Y 2000 (1 July 2000 — 30 June 2001).
