Subject: LaGrange Monitoring Report Hey David, Thank you for your submittal of the La Grange Year 1 Monitoring report on behalf of Greene Environmental Services, LLC (GES). I received the report on December 3, 2013 and have the following questions /comments: • pg1: section on "Monitoring & Results for Year 2012 "? Shouldn't this 2013? • pg 2: according to the As -built Report, the site was also planted in 2013, which increased the seedling /acre yield to 624 seedlings per acre. Adjust all stem counts, tables, percentages, etc to reflect this error throughout the report. • pg2: last paragraph of "Monitoring & Results for Year 2012 "; states that GES planted Swamp Chestnut Oak. According to the BPDP & As -Built Report, as well as Table 1 in this report, Swamp Chestnut Oak was not a planted species, but rather a natural volunteer. Explain & correct all stem counts, tables, percentages, etc to reflect this error throughout the report. • Table 1: what about the column showing stems planted in 2013 (AsBuilt #s: river birch was 50, bald cypress was 100, pond cypress was 200)? Correct & adjust throughout. • Table 2: according to the CVS protocol, which the GES UMBI & La Grange BPDP state monitoring protocols shall abide by, volunteer tree stems less than 10 cm in height are not to be recorded and counted in the vegetation data. This table does not provide the height of volunteers counted in the plots. If you have the height data of the volunteers, provide the data in the revised report. However, if you don't have the data, please provide that statement in the report and state that this data will be recorded in monitoring reports. Please note: this height requirements is only required for volunteers being counted in the plots, not planted stems. • Table 3: Adjust table to reflect the errors noted above in the comments. o Add a row to this table to show "Stems per acre" for each plot, not just the total site. • Table 4: see comments above on Swamp Chestnut Oak. Thank you again for your submittal of the Year 1 Monitoring Report. Once comments have been incorporated, resubmit the report to me via .pdf for final approval. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
