Lanier wishes to clear a portion of property located on NCSR 1537 approximately 0.40 miles from its intersection with NCSR 1538 in the Stump Sound Township, Onslow County. The property totals 58.37 acres, and the owner wishes to clear the wooded portion of the lot (51.6 acres). The remainder of the property is already clear (open field) or wetland areas. The entire property is currently vacant Developer proposes to construct streets (strip pavement with ribbon(flat) curbing) with roadside swales. Total BUA associated with this project, including homes & drives, is proposed to <25%. Existing site topography is gently to moderately sloping (2 -10%) with the steepest sloping areas towards the western area of the tract. Proposed erosion sedimentation control measures include silt fencing along downgradient disturbance limits and around all wetland areas. Additional silt fence barriers are proposed around disposal areas for the dredge spoils. Sediment basins are also proposed at several locations across the site. Filters along inside of bulkheads will provide additional protection against sedimentation into the areas designated to be dredged.
