Dear Mr. Burke:
On September 30, 2021 the City of Greensboro Stormwater Management Division completed an
industrial compliance inspection of Gilbarco Veeder-Root. Local regulations permit an
inspection of industrial facilities under authority granted by City of Greensboro Code of
Ordinance Chapter 30, Article 12, Section 7.1 (C-5). This inspection consisted of two parts: a
review of the facility files/records and an on -site facility inspection.
The inspection was performed by Blake Strumbel and Peter Schneider, and the following
deficiencies/observations were noted during the inspection.

Site Inspection
Preventative Maintenance/Good Housekeeping
• Employees were observed washing equipment with water and simply green soap
near the back of the facility. The wash water then entered a nearby storm drain.
It is recommended that emphasis be put on proper equipment washing procedures
during the next scheduled training and that any future washing should be done in
the designated areas. Future discharges of this type could result in a notice of
violation from the City of Greensboro.
Non-Stormwater Discharges
• No deficiencies observed.
It is recommended that Gilbarco Veeder-Root take appropriate actions to correct the noted
