SUPPLEMENT TO PERMIT COVER SHEET
Sherwood Forest Utility, Inc.
is hereby authorized to:
1. Continue to operate an existing 0.015 MGD wastewater treatment facility consisting of a septic
tank and surface sand filter located at Sherwood Forest Subdivision, US Hwy 276, north of
Cedar Mountain, Transylvania County (See Part ID of this Permit), and
2. After receiving an Authorization to Construct from the Division of Environmental Management,
construct and operate a second surface sand filter to increase treatment capacity to 0.030 MGD
3. Discharge from said treatment works at the location specified on the attached map into the Little
River which is classified Class C-Trout waters in the French Broad River Basin.

PART IV - EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Only one sand filter, approximately 15,000 gpd treatment capacity,
has been constructed. Facilities currently being served consist
of 26, 2 bedroom condominium units, one three bedroom house, and a
restaurant capable of seating 75-100 people. There are plans to
construct additional homes and condo units. To date, only one
additional residence has .been connected to the facility since the
permit was renewed May 1994.
The permit should be renewed with two pages, the first page with a
limit of.15,000 gpd and a second page with a limit of 30,000 gpd
to be effective upon completion of expansion.
