The Compliance Evaluation Inspection was conducted by Mark Brantley, Environmental Senior Specialist, of the Fayetteville Regional Office. The facility was found to be in Compliance with permit NC0005363. As a reminder, preservation of the Waters of the State can only be achieved through consistent NPDES Permit compliance. Comments Demolition activities are ongoing and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2014. There was no discharge at outfall 001 at the time of the inspection. Also there was no discharge at the coal ash pond outfall at the time of the inspection. Please refer to the enclosed inspection report for additional observations and comments. Is access to the plant site restricted to the general public? Is the inspector granted access to all areas for inspection? Comment: Coal fired facility and associated equipment (excluding Ash Pond) has been shut done and removed. Demolition crews are removing concrete and and final grading and reseeding is scheduled to be complete by October 2014. Effluent Pipe Is right of way to the outfall properly maintained? Are the receiving water free of foam other than trace amounts and other debris? If effluent (diffuser pipes are required) are they operating properly?
