Permit WQ0037971
Brunswick County, NC
TE 19020
Dear Mr. Hunkele:
OCT 0 1 2021
We are requesting a modification to existing permit No. W00037971 for the 150
Backhoe Road project located in Belville. Enclosed please find one (1) original and one
(1) copy of the fast -track application for a public sewer extension, flow
tracking/acceptance form, topo map, street map, and a check to cover the application fees
for the above referenced project.
We are proposing 356 if of 8" C-900 PVC and 965 if of 8" DIP gravity sewer.
We are requesting flow of 3,500 GPD to serve 7 commercial office/warehouse buildings.
The proposed C-900 sewer ties into existing 8" sewer main within the property. The
proposed DIP sewer ties into an existing 8" sewer main along Backhoe Road.
Please review for approval and contact us with any questions, comments or if you
need additional information. Thank you.
Sincerely,
T ' p Engineering, P.C.

Dean,
The existing permit WQ0037971 issued 9/11/15 is for the 2 buildings on Venture. Flow was based on 20 employees per
building.
Registers Collision and the other 2 buildings existing in 2004 are not served by permit WQ0037971, are not involved in
this project in any way and we do not know what their permit number is. They would be connected to the same existing
public main on Backhoe Road that our project tied into.
Sorry for the confusion.

Subject: RE: [External] RE: Add Info: WQ0037971 Backhoe Rd
Importance: High
Okay so the original permit was issued for a proposed 40-employee light industrial/commercial facility located at 150
Backhoe with no mention of serving the Register Collision Center. Looking at Google Earth Pro timeline, both of the
facilities were existing in 11-2004. 1 guess I am okay with letting both of them be considered covered by the original
permit unless you have information to the contrary.
So I see the three new proposed buildings on your plan up near Poole Rd with two behind the other two on Venture. So
how did the existing two buildings for lease at Backhoe & Venture below get approval to be built & CO'd without a
sewer permit?
Is the flow for them in your proposal as it doesn't appear so? If not, then need to add that to the request.
Was any thought given to using the unknown usage flow in 2T based on 880 gpd/acre? Are all these connections to
simply be for restrooms serving small business & office space, i.e. no retail, food services, processing water, etc?
FYI - I'll be renaming the project to Backhoe Road & Western NE Gregory Road sewer in our system and on permit upon
issuance.

Dean,
In response to your questions below:
1. Yes, Register's Collision is served by the existing main on Backhoe Road.
2. 3 new buildings will be served by a continuation of the line permitted under WQ0037971.
3. 4 new buildings will be served by anew extension off the Backhoe Road main to extend down Gregory Road.
4. Yes, there is still amain gap between the proposed sewer and the main serving the Credit Union.
5. We would prefer the segments be permitted together since they serve the same project. Both parcels are
owned by JBS Associates, LLC.
6. Flow is calculated on 20 employees per building at 25 gpd per employee. Therefore each building is estimated
at 500 gpd. 3 buildings on north parcel = 1,500 gpd, 4 buildings on south parcel = 2,000 gpd.
See attached utility plan for clarification.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,
Delia Baird

Subject: Add Info: WQ0037971 Backhoe Rd
Importance: High
Okay so the initial permit was to serve 150 Backhoe Rd which looks like it is TCI, Inc. Is Register's Collision at 154 on the
system as well or on septic? How are the two new buildings on each side of Venture Drive served for sewer?
With the new segments proposed along NE Gregory Road is there still a gap between it and sewer installed on Gregory
for the Credit Union under W00038561?
Trying to figure out if the two proposed, non-contiguous segments should be permitted together or not. Also, since two
parcels to be served, how much of the proposed flow is to be applied to each parcel/area?
Please advise
