Rocky Mount- Wilson Regional Airport
7265 Air Terminal Drive
Elm City, NC 27822 - Nash County, NC
Proposed Activity:
The Rocky Mount- Wilson Regional Airport is located at 7265 Air Terminal Drive
off of NC Hwy 97 approximately 2.0 miles east of the intersection of NC Hwy 58 and
NC Hwy. 97 in Nash County. The overall acreage of the site is 456 acres. The existing
conditions consist of a regional airport facility with a 7,000 ft runway and supporting
structures.
They wish to re -align and resurface existing drives and extend the waterline
service at the site. Part of the existing drive crosses a Tar - Pamlico Buffer Zone that
begins at an outfall pipe on the North side of the drive that discharges to an UT to the Tar
River Reservoir located approximately 1,700 ft. on the northwest side of NC Hwy 97.
The project proposes to resurface the existing drive in the buffer zone area and
repair, re- grade, seed, and stabilize the area around the outfall that has experienced some
erosion through the years. Net impervious area within the buffer will be reduced by
approximately 100SF.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact this office.
