This letter is in response to your November 2, 2021 NOV-2020-LV-0817letter to
Tweetsie Railroad attached.
The violation is correct for exceeding daily maximum of 7.5 mg/L BOD with a 9.8 mg/L.
The high BOD result for the first week of the month was a result of several days in the
7,000 gpd flow range to 1,000 gpd low flow. Wide swings in seasonal flow make the
biological population very unstable to maintain less than 7.5 mg/L BOD's. The next four
weeks of BOD were compliant.
