Use a synthetic filter Fabric of at least q5 % by Weight of polyolefin5 or
polyester, which is certified by the manufacturer or supplier as conforming to the
requirements in A5TM D WI. .
Synthetic filter fabric should contain ultraviolet ray inhibitors and stabilizers to
provide a minimum of 6 months of expected usable construction life at a
temperature range of 0 to
120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ensure that posts for sediment Fences are 1.33 lb/linear ft steel with a minimum
length of 5 feet. Make sure that steel posts have projections to facilitate
Fastening the fabric.
For reinforcement of standard strength filter fabric, use Wire fence with a
minimum 14 gauge and a maximum mesh spacing of 6 inches.
Additional measures may be required - The applicant 15 responsible for the
control of sediment on-5ite. If the approved erosion and sedimentation control
measures prove insufficient, the applicant must take those additional 5tep5

AND ESTABLISH FINAL GRADING ELEVATION.
6. COMPACT THE AREA PROPERLY AND STABILIZE IT WITH 6ROUN06OVER.
MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
INSPECT 5EDIMENT FENCES AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK AND AFTER EACH SIGNIFICANT (1/2 INCH OR 6REATER RAINFALL EVENT.
MAKE ANY REQUIRED REPAIRS IMMEDIATELY.
CLEAR THE ME5H WIRE OF ANY DEBRIS OR OTHER OBJECTS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE FLON FOR 50135EQUENT RAINS.
TAKE GARS NOT TO DAMA6E OR UNDERCUT THE WIRE ME5H DURING SEDIMENT REMOVAL. SHOULD THE FABRIC OF
A 5EDIMENT FENCE GO1_LAP5E, TEAR, DECOMP05E OR BECOME INEFFECTIVE, REPLACE IT PROMPTLY
