Inspection Summary:
Inspection was in response to an application for coverage under the NCG21. Coverage is recomended.
The facility recieves logs and saws/chips onsite to make timber mats. Industrial activities are performed under cover in large
barns. Timber mat wood is stored outside in large piles. Several piles of chipped wood were also stored outside. The chipped
wood is loaded into trucks and hauled offsite. Chipped wood is also sometimes deposited directly into trucks from the wood
chipper. Saw dust and chipped wood are not stored onsite for long. There is an abundance of timber matt logs stored
outside. The wood is untreated. The facility contact stated they do not normally have that much material kept onsite and
most of the stockpiled logs are onsite becuase they were meant to be used for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline project that was
withdrawn. He is in the process of selling them. Along the southern edge of the site, there are materials left from the
previous owners that are slowly being removed.
No leachate was observed during the site visit.
The site already has a SWPPP and has taken one stormwater sample.
