The outfalls you have highlighted have industrial activities draining to them and should be sampled. The rest are outfalls,
but they do not require samples be taken

Based on the current guidance to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Environmental Quality has
adjusted operations to protect the health and safety of the staff and public. Many employees are working remotely or
are on staggered shifts. To accommodate these staffing changes, all DEQ office locations are limiting public access to
appointments only. Please check with the appropriate staff before visiting our offices, as we may be able to handle your
requests by phone or email. We appreciate your patience as we continue to serve the public during this challenging
time.

They will sample outfalls 1,5,7 & 8. They will keep the outfall numbering the same and designate those four outfalls as
sample points

Okay, this makes more sense.
Can you help me with which outfalls need to STAY in BIMS, so they are set up properly when they start reporting in
eDMR? I'll catch the submittal of this ROS status and pull it out of the uploads so no one is confused by it.
Thanks,
Bg

I looked at this one yesterday as a new ROS submittal. They said they were told by predecessors that the ROS was
approved in 2014, but they have no documentation, emails or anything, to show it was approved and we have nothing in
BIMS about that. I walked the entire site and many of their outfalls are from parking lots and other non -industrial areas,
so those can be removed as sample points. The rest can not be representative because they haven't done any sampling
and we don't know what they represent. I told them the ROS would be disapproved and they would need to sample (4)
outfalls, including #5 which was their representative outfall, and update the site map.

Hey Thad —
I think I got contacted about this one back in the summer. See attached. I'm not sure it was "formally approved" in
writing (he just says by phone or email at renewal, but doesn't have the original written approval).
BIMS has a "Representative Outfall" listed, but it's not really set up the way it should be. The outfalls that are not
sampled should be denoted with a "represented by" outfall choice, but I think they should all be represented by
005. Given the lack of approval documentation, I think RRO might want to confirm this one is appropriate before we
make the necessary changes in BIMS? They want outfall 005 to represent all the rest.
