Site inspection was conducted by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office on November 1, 2021. James
Hutchins was present during the inspection. The inspection was in response to a self reported sediment loss on October
29, 2021. The following are items that require attention.
-Station 475+00 RT - Repair erosion at headwall - Discussed using coir fiber matting or rip rap
-Station 475+50 RT - Groundcover needed in swale and along road shoulder.
-Station 467+00 LT - Silt fence needs repair and outlet needs maintenance. Sediment was observed in JS below SDO.
This was addressed by the end of the day. Pictures of the repair and sediment removal were received.
-Station 466+00 LT - Sediment loss occurred at this station and has been addressed. Erosion control is still needed
where base ditch is bypassing basin.
I will follow up with Reid Whitehead after his inspection to make sure items are being addressed.
DWR is still concerned with the lack of grouncover on the slopes that are to be rock plated. If area is to remain idle,
then temporary groundcover is needed per NPDES stabilization requirements.
