The Town of Carolina Beach is providing a short update on their permit status for NCS000394. This update is to
satisfy the audit report requirements for the permit year of July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021. Currently the Town of
Carolina Beach is in the process of renewing their permit following the MS4 audit that was performed on December 2,
2020. Following the audit the town received NOV-2020-PC-0546 on January 26, 2021. The town sent a council
resolution letter to the state on February 10, 2021. Upon the resolution the Town of Carolina Beach began working with a
consultant to create a S WMP and perform a self -audit of the other six minimum measures. The town's self -audit was sent
to the state along with the draft S WMP on May 26, 2021. An official permit application was sent to the state on June 23,
2021.
The town has also developed and implemented plans for all six minimum control measures along with installing a
new position in charge of NPDES compliance for the town's stormwater permits. The Town of Carolina Beach and its
elected officials are dedicated to gaining compliance with all stormwater permits and have started the process to be a
compliant municipality.
