Tuckaseigee Water and Sewer Auth.
Wastewater Treatment Plant #3, Cashiers
Permit Number: NC0063321
Jackson County
Dear Mr. King:
On January 10, 2001, I visited the wastewater treatment plant in Cashiers, NC due to an anonymous
complaint of streambed disturbance at the point of discharge. The extension of the effluent pipe into the
water body should increase dilution and minimize stream bank erosion due to the discharge.
It is recommended that the effluent pipe be modified to discharge the effluent parallel to the stream flow.
This may be accomplished with the use of an "elbow" or "tee" on the end of the pipe.
Nothing in this letter should be taken as removing from you the responsibility or liability for failure to
comply with all applicable state laws and regulations.
If you have any question, do not hesitate to contact me at 828-251-6208 ext. 205.
Sincerely,
cc: NPDES Compliance Unit
