HomeMy WebLinkAbout20141259 Ver 1_Mitigation Remediation Plans_20210702Town Creek Proposed Supplemental Planting Plan (DMS #95026) As agreed upon during the June 3, 2021 site visit, Baker will plant 25 containerized trees (of at least a 3- gal size) along the right bank in the upper portion of Reach 2 where the IRT noted a sparse tree presence during the walkover. The proposed species will be a mix of white oak (Quercus alba), willow oak (Quercus phellos), tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera), and persimmon (Diospyros virginiana). Additionally, Baker will plant 12 containerized plants (at least 3-gal size) along the left bank of the middle section of Reach 3 (a notably much wetter area) consisting of a mix of swamp chestnut oak (Quercus michauxii), river birch (Betula nigra), and spicebush (Lindera benzoin). Each of the proposed species was originally listed in the mitigation plan and planted post -construction. No one species will account for more than 50% of the planted stems and any species alteration from this list due to availability will be approved by the IRT prior to planting. A final species composition table will be provided after replanting work is completed. Please see the map below for proposed planting locations. This revegetation effort is proposed for the late fall to early winter when the survivability of the plants is much higher than when conducted earlier in the season. From: Davis. Please verify that no one species will account for more than 50% of the replanted stems. It would be helpful if you could send a species composition table for the areas planted when you send the before and after photos. Lastly, please send confirmation once the damaged fence has been repaired by the landowner.
