A n, On behalf of Pulte Homes, we are requesting authorization from the USACE to use NWP 12 for 30 if of temporary impacts to streams for the construction of a sewer line crossing. Please note that the project qualifies for a non - notifying NWP 12, so this PCN is being provided to the Corps as a courtesy. Since the entire 30' utility easement will be mowed /maintained, the crossing is classified as "Allowable" and therefore requires written authorization from NCDWR. Therefore, we are requesting a 401 WQC for the proposed impacts. The project site is located approximately 600 if southwest of the western terminus of Kit Creek Road at the Alston Ridge Elementary School in Cary, Wake County (Latitude: 35.8597 °N; Longitude: - 78.9oo8 °W). The project is located in the Cape Fear River basin and onsite waters drain to Kitt Creek. The Water Quality Classification for Kitt Creek is WS -IV; NSW and the Stream Index Number is:16- 41- 1- 17- 2- (0.7). The cataloging unit for the site is 03030002. Proposed Project The proposed project consists of a 1236 if sewer line crossing (8" DIP), which will connect the sewer within the Village at the Park subdivision to an existing sewer line to the east. The project Please note that there are no impacts associated with the construction of the Village at the Park subdivision, and therefore, the proposed project consists only of the stream crossing necessary to install the sewer connection. Proiect History Mr. Dave Shaeffer with the Corps of Engineers field verified the wetland delineation on July 9', 2013 (AID SAW - 2013- 0163o). The wetland survey is being submitted as an Appendix to this application for verification and signature to facilitate issuance of the final JD. 1410 Commonwealth Drive I Suite 1011 Wilmington, NC 28403 1 tel: 910.256.9277 1 fax: 910.256.2584 www.withersravenel.com I License No. C -0832 WITHERS &RAVENEL ENGINEERS I PLANNERS SURVEYORS Proposed Impacts The proposed impacts consist of 30 if of temporary stream impacts necessary to install the 8" DIP line to connect the Village at the Park sewer to the existing sewer line to the east. Avoidance and Minimization Prior to site plan design, the applicant requested that a detailed wetland delineation be conducted so that impacts to wetlands and "waters" could be minimized. Impacts have been minimized to only those stream impacts necessary to construct the sewer connection. There are no impacts proposed for construction of the Village at the Park subdivision. Mitigation Because the proposed stream impacts are temporary, no mitigation is proposed. The current request is for 30 if of temporary stream impacts (see the attached maps and PCN for details). Please feel free to call if you have questions or require additional information.
