Dear Mr. Raul:
On June 15, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your stormwater management
plan as required by Condition No. 7 of the 401 Water Quality Certification issued to you on
August 7, 2006. The DWQ has determined that your stormwater management plan was
incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require
additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or
streams on the subject property. Please provide two copies of the following information so that
we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Regarding your proposed bioretention area as shown on Sheet No. 6, please provide soil
specifications and depth of soil proposed.
2. Regarding your proposed extended detention wetland as shown on Sheet No. 7, the plant
list does not match the wording of the planting key. It is unclear where the "Plant List--
Sedge Community" would be planted. The labeling should be consistent so that a
landscape contractor would know what to plant and where. Woody plant material (trees,
shrubs) were not included in the planting plan list. Also, Hemerocallis Stella D'Oro is
non-native plant; natives are preferred. Please refer to Table 12.1 of the NC DENR
Stormwater BMP Manual.
The DWQ will require this additional information in order to approve your stormwater
management plan.
