Please reference your application for a Department of the Army authorization to construct a
private docking facility located at 159 Big Hammock Point Road, adjacent to Chadwick Bay, in
Sneads Ferry, Onslow County, North Carolina.
After review of your proposal, by letter dated September 3, 2013 (copy attached) the United
States NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has recommended revisions to your
application and plans. The NMFS recommends the four proposed tie pilings and associated boat
moorings be deleted from your proposed project. These recommendations are due to anticipated
adverse environmental impacts. The Corps, therefore, also has similar concerns.
Our administrative process provides you the opportunity to propose a resolution and/or
rebut any and all objections before a final decision is made. In this regard, I would appreciate
being made aware of your intentions, in writing, on or before October 7, 2013.
