The proposed "Westpoint" development will adversely impact both quality of life for Durham residents and the
integrity and wellbeing of the environment that provides so much for North Carolina's rich natural heritage. The
development proposal is highly inconsistent with the existing Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map,
through which the City Council specifically voted to recommend "very low density" development of only 2
dwellings per acre. Please suspend development until a more thorough, higher -level oversight process can
review the proposal. For a land use change of this scale of impact to the Public Interest, the process should
require nothing less than a Public Hearing. Thank you for your attention and consideration!
