Developer Keith T. Brown's plans to build 379 houses in Black Meadow Ridge will eliminate natural ground cover.
The development will devastate the river by increasing drain water runoff that has no where else to go and will,
surely, carry pollutants unfiltered by naturally running through ground cover and seeping underground and being
cleansed naturally before entering the river. I am not sure if the development will actually disturb some graves, I
am not sure the City of Durham would really let that happen, but in the case the graves are not disturbed the
flooding from the drain water runoff will. Then there are the three endangered aquatic species to consider.
Mr. Brown should consider giving back to Durham by donating that particular property to the Eno River
Association as a buffer and to the betterment of the Eno River since Durham is considering adding the river as
one of it's water sources.
