Any project so close to Durham's treasured West Point on the Eno park must have the highest level of review.
The park must be protected; the area surrounding the park has a huge impact on the water quality and on the
wildlife. I'm dismayed to hear, from citizen activists, that the proposed development is only a mile from a planned
water intake for our drinking water. Protect our water, our park, our wildlife. I appreciate the work being done by
the group Save Black Meadow Ridge and I agree with their grave concern about the Westpoint project. Now is
the time to put the brakes on, to give full consideration to the well -thought out concerns and to the future of our
water supply, natural areas and parks.
