I am strongly opposed to the Westpoint development. The Eno river and its surrounding parklands are an
enormous asset to Durham, and the source of much of our drinking water. I am highly concerned about the
impact of impermeable surfaces and runoff from the development. I do believe the developer's assessments
adequately address the likely impact of 401 Individual Clean Water Act Permit disturbances. I do not believe this
project is in the Public Interest of Durham residents, and I do believe it will be a significant detriemnt to our
environment. I believe a Public Hearing should be required for this development.
The Save Black Meadow Ridge group has raised many valid concerns, and I believe each of them warrants
more thorough investigation. This is a project that should be deemed to have a significant public Impact.
Thorough independent investigation and public debate is warranted, and I strongly endorse the need for higher
level of review.
