I am writing to voice my opposition to the Westpoint development and their permit application. I am opposed
because the application omits how the endangered species and their habitat will be negatively impacted by the
development. The application also fails to address public safety concerns about direct human contact with
water/runoff from the development. Additionally, it omits the negative impacts the development will have on water
quality, specifically Durham's drinking water. Because of this, I believe the permit type the Westpoint developer
applied for needs review from the US Army Corps of Engineers, along with additional oversight and impact
assessments. I am requesting a public hearing from the Division of Water Resources per code: 15A NCAC .02H
.0503.
Finally, I believe that the Save Black Meadow Ridge group has raised many concerns and points that need a
more thorough investigation. A response vetting those concerns would be greatly appreciated.
