The pristine nature of the Eno River in Durham is a huge drawing point for the city. There have been numerous
studies showing that access to green spaces does wonders for communities including teaching respect for the
natural world upon which we depend for our very survival to actually being linked to lower crime. The intangible
wealth that this provides far outweighs the short sighted benefits of development. Not to mention the damage
done to our local ecosystem that could affect water quality and hamper the natural barriers to flooding. I sincerely
hope that this wonderful eden can be preserved so that future generations can enjoy this area as much as I
have.
