Please pick the response below that represents your stance on the above mentioned project?* Yes - I agree with the project. No - I do not agree with the project. Comment I am opposed to the Westpoint development and their permit application. I do not think the assessments reflect the true picture of the development's impacts and the impacts from the 401 Individual Clean Water Act Permit disturbances. I do not think this project or specific permit is in the Public Interest of Durham residents or the environment- and I believe a Public Hearing should be required for this development. This project will have long lasting negative effects on a valuable community resource in Durham and all citizens should have a right to understand the project and its implications and have a say on whether it goes forward. There is ample undeveloped land elsewhere in Durham that does not have the significance that this parcel does. This development will irreparably harm a delicate ecosystem that is home to a number of rare species. Also the construction will lead to run off into the Eno which is part of a much larger water system and the developer has not provided an adequate plan for managing both short and long term storm water issues. My husband and I frequent the trails at the Eno, I hike Eno River trails everyday for recreation. We also enjoy recreational fishing as a family, and this development jeopardizes the health of the greater eno watershed. This development should be stopped from any further work.
