I'm a student at a residential high school near the parks that are being developed upon, and watching the
community that brought me to this school be destroyed is so upsetting. The parks and water in Durham already
struggle enough from the strain of being in the middle of a city. Placing more pressure on our environment and
the little green space we have than we already do hinders our ability to commune with nature, and also destroys
countless animals' natural habitats. We cannot continue to treat our rivers and our parks like garbage if we want
our world to survive, and no one who valued the city of Durham for everything it has to offer would treat these
aspects of the city so horribly.
