To Whom it May Concern:
I am opposed to the Westpoint development and their permit application.
This permit goes against the Public Interest of Durham residents and the health of our environment. The project's
close proximity to one of our only natural water ways, threatens to undo the many years, money, and work
Durham residents put in to clean up the Eno. This project will have significant impacts to: water quality,
endangered & threatened species, West Point City Park and Historic Site, and the health of citizens that enjoy
the Eno River as a place of family recreation.
I believe a Public Hearing should be required for this development.
Groups like Save Black Meadow Ridge and the Eno River Association have raised many concerns about the
Westpoint development, and I believe each point being raised by these groups needs more thorough
investigation. I would appreciate a response that reflects the vetting of all the concerns being raised by these
groups.
This is a project that should be deemed to have a significant public Impact and needs greater oversight through
a different permit type and higher level of review.
Shame on all of us otherwise.
