Please pick the response below that represents your stance on the above mentioned project?* Yes - I agree with the project. No - I do not agree with the project. Comment I am very much opposed to the Westpoint development and the associated permit application. The reasons are many - concerns about stormwater runoff, clear -cutting, impervious surfaces, water quality, endangered species, habitat loss - but the concern that I want to elaborate on is the impact on visitors' enjoyment of West Point on the Eno park. The park is heavily used. I have been surprised by the number of people on the trails even on weekdays. The farther one gets from Roxboro Rd, the quieter and more serene the experience. The sounds of traffic and residential life fade and are replaced by the sounds of birds singing and the river running across rocks. The foliage is dense and the land is hilly, so it seems as if one is far from the city and homes and streets. West Point park allows the visitor to immerse his or herself in nature and detach from the busy-ness of everyday life. This is so important for unwinding, recharging, and countering our overstressed and overstimulated ways of being. Developing Black Meadow Ridge puts this unique and positive experience at risk. Not only will the tree buffer be reduced allowing the intrusion of neighborhood views, but the sounds of human and motor vehicle activity will permeate the quiet. Noise resulting from the development will have big impacts on visitors' enjoyment of West Pont on the Eno. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
