The Eno River is an important historical and recreational asset for all of Durham County. The Eno River
Association has worked for many years to acquire land along the River so that it remains accessible to all
citizens. The location of high density residential development along the park's boundaries is a bad idea on many
levels: decreased water quality, destruction of natural habitat, light pollution, increased traffic & litter, noise
pollution, overuse of park resources, etc. the existing park is a treasure that should be preserved at all cost for
the enjoyment of future generations. There are many less sensitive areas in North Durham where new housing
could be located. At the very least, the density of this development should be reduced and strict environmental
requirements imposed.
