I am opposed to the Westpoint development, and I am urging that the environmental impacts of this proposed
project be more fully considered. The benefits to the community are negligible, while the risks are significant.
This threatens water quality, it increases the probability of physical damage to a place of historical and cultural
significance, and it will certainly worsen the park through the new homes' proximity and noise pollution.
This development does not align with Durham's community -oriented values. It doesn't make a dent in the
housing issue, yet it produces noticeable environmental harm. The developer reaps the benefits, while the
community pays the costs. It is not worth it.
