The project area is a damage bridge across the East Fork Pigeon River in a rural-residential area in southern Haywood County.

The project purpose is to replace a bridge damage by TS Fred in August 2021.

The new bridge will be built upstream of the existing using conventional heavy construction equipment.Once built,the old bridge which handled traffic during new bridge construction,will
be demolished.Impacts of the project will include rip rap protection of the river banks in the vicinity of the new and old bridges.
