While Durham and the greater area are in need of more (primarily affordable) housing, the development of such
should not come at the cost of destroying precious ecosystem. The proposed development would put immense
pressure on Black Meadow Ridge, an area of the Eno that is already experiencing major flooding and pollution
challenges (namely a large, raw sewage leak incident in 2019), and it cannot endure any more. This area was
designated a keystone (highest priority) watershed preservation area by Durham, and the Eno was named a
water source just last year. This permit for this proposed development should not and must not be approved, and
the Eno must be protected. Thank you.
