As a Durham County resident, I am in total opposition to this project. I do not think this project or specific permit
is in the Public Interest of Durham residents or the environment- and I believe a Public Hearing should be
required for this development. We cannot give developers the power to do whatever they want with only profit in
mind. This development has hugely damaging effects on: the environment writ large, the local ecosystem
specifically, and Durham's water quality and supply, to name just a few. The fact that there has not been a public
comment period until now is deeply concerning.
The Save Black Meadow Ridge group has raised many concerns that I share, and I believe each point being
raised by this group needs more thorough investigation. I would appreciate a response that reflects the vetting of
those concerns. So many times the interests of developers are given more weight than what the public truly
wants, and I hope that you listen carefully to the citizens of Durham that oppose this project, and to the groups
that have done the research and are advocating on our behalf.
